Rotolights

Rotolights by Floris Schoonderbeek are windmills where the windmill is also the light fixture.

During the holidays the Rotolights illuminated Park Sonsbeek in Arnhem. Availability of light was central to the art installation. It was a small-scale translation of a greater sustainable use of energy ambition by Schoonderbeek.
“We are used to using energy on demand, while it would help our energy issues if we started using energy if nature made it available to us. The Rotolights will therefor only be illuminated if there is enough wind to supply the energy required for the lighting.”

The installation in Park Sonsbeek was an experiment to experience and to develop further.
The Rotolights have been developed in such a way that they can be made anywhere in the world, by any individual, with 3D printing and standard parts.

The Rotolights will be available for sale from February 2020 at Studio Floris Schoonderbeek.
