Raincafé at DDW 2025

Raincafé, smart water storage that connects

Water is all around us, but increasingly, there's either too much or too little.
With Raincafé, we demonstrate how we can manage it more intelligently.

Raincafé, smart water storage that connects

Water is all around us, but increasingly, there's either too much or too little.
With Raincafé, we demonstrate how we can manage it more intelligently.

Developed by Cleantech Park Arnhem, ZUS [Zones Urbaines Sensibles], and Studio Floris Schoonderbeek, Raincafé is much more than just a rainwater tank. It's a living system that collects, stores, and makes rainwater available for daily use, from watering plants to creating playful water features on hot days.

At the same time, it's a place where people meet, work, or simply take a break. A place where design, technology, and nature literally converge. The spiral-shaped water bag moves with the flow of water, making the impact of the weather visible and tangible.

After Dutch Design Week, Raincafé will have a permanent location at Cleantech Park Arnhem, where it will be used daily and further developed in collaboration with designers and partners.
